"Roy" The Corduroy Steer

This is my recent piece that I completed. It measures 21" x 21" and is done on old cedar fencing. The head is a piece of pine, while the body is made of corduroy.

The Man In Black

This is the second Johnny Cash I did on a door to a very old radio cabinet.

BUNNY

Here is a recent piece I completed, a cast iron rabbit. It was painted at the request of Roger Hale and Francine Potts of Green Bay, Wi. Francine is a cancer survivor and they wanted me to paint the rabbit in a similar style to Socks, with words of inspiration on the body.

TUSK

This piece is my first attempt at painting on canvas. 'Tusk' turned out well. It is 16' X 20" and was donated to the Prairie Arts Council for their 2009 Gala auction held this past weekend. Here is a link to the Prairie Arts Council in Princeton, of which I am a board member. http://www.prairieartscenter.org/

Porch Table

Here is a table I painted during the summer of '09. It is an old sewing machine and sits on our front porch.

4 Small paintings

Here are 4 smaller paintings I did this past year.

Walking Stick & Croquet Mallet

This past year I found a few new objects to paint. Firstly, a stick that was part of a device that used to open and close a an old coal chute, and also a croquet mallet.

Greetings from ARTworks of Illinois!

We are a group of local artists who have created this organization in the hopes of inspiring artistic growth, through education and exhibition. Our goal is to promote in a positive manner, quality, professionalism, and diversity in the arts and to create a venue to support community re-development and cultural tourism. It is our desire to expose our community to the beauty and necessity of art. We hope to mobilize all artists, patrons, and artistic organizations together in creating a unique community of cultural innovators.

************
Art is important. We tend to think it is a luxury, but it gives people deep pleasure because beauty is the personification of hope that something grander is at work. (Gil Dellinger)
